it is a very sad day, one of the biggest contributers to the technology world as we know it, his innovations and brilliantly creative mind will be missed..

The first time I saw the Apple Macintosh in 1984 my complete view of computers changed forever. Although I'm not a fanboi- I'll call foul when I see it.

Love or hate Apple, people need to give due respect to the man whose vision has, nearly single handedly, transformed the way we interact with digital information.

I have had the honor of working at Apple twice in my career. Saw the man on campus several times, and shared a brief (and quiet) elevator ride with him.

He took a company that fired him, a company bereft of a vision or plan, and in just 15 years revolutionized personal technology, how we listen to music, how we share our lives with each other.

And in the process brought Apple from bankruptcy to having more cash than THE FEDERAL RESERVE.

Well done, Mr. Jobs, and godspeed to you and your family.

Hmm... now I gotta find a tartan with six colors...

    Too true.

BTW: I still kick myself that I didn't buy Apple at $3.33/share when I had the chance in the late 90's right when they brought Jobs back.

Mad props to BoingBoing, for their vintage MacOS tribute to Steve Jobs. Well played!

Next Friday, the 14th of October is Steve Jobs Day.

You can mark the occasion by wearing Steve's trademark black St. Croix mock turtleneck, Levi's 501 blue jeans, and New Balance running shoes.

That sucks. Don't know what he was like as a person but he was a visionary of technology.

I started my computer journey on the Apple back in the early 80's.

Major irony, most people heard about his death on the device he invented...

Interestingly that is the date that the iPhone 4S starts shipping.
