Those special memories
Way back in the middle of the last century, my siblings, cousins, and I would end up going to get ice cream cones at a special place. My Uncle would end up buying all those ice cream cones and giving them to us kids. It was always a treat that we cherished. Granted those trips ended years ago, but the fond memories are still with me.
My Uncle passed this morning quietly and in his sleep, he was in his 90's.
He loved my Kilt and wished that he had the "guts" (yes his words) to wear one.
Instead of feeling sorry go out Kilted and have an ice cream cone, he would have liked it, I have already had mine, a Rocky Road.

My condolences at your loss. I think your Uncle would be happy that you remembered him with an ice cream.

Gman, my condolences to you and yours, but I am going to go right away and scoop up a bowl of peanut butter cup ice cream in his honor.

Glen, our condolences. As my aunts and uncles have passed all of us in my generation have gotten together for a good old Scottish wake, something they would or have enjoyed with us. Your ice cream reminds me of the summers we used to spend in Illinois with family.

There's a special connection with ice cream and families. I can remember the deep freeze on my grandparents enclosed porch being stocked with several types of ice cream. My Grandpa loves ice cream, as does my Dad. I'm quite partial to it as is my daughter. It turns out that my Father-in-law worked in a creamery and loves ice cream too.
What a beautiful and cherished memory you hold GMan. Thanks for sharing. A tip of the cone to your Uncle!
