    Trews... show us your pics

I recently picked up a pair of trews. I am excited about being able to use them when I want to wear Highland (or Lowland) attire but am not needing or wanting to wear a kilt. I also have to admit that I have become a lover of trews from seeing Hector and Kilwillie in them and how great they looked.

SO... How many of you have trews and where/when do you wear them? Post some photos. I am looking for inspiration on how to wear them,

Here is a photo of my trews. I just dropped the hem to get a better fit and then, since I was trying out a new tie and tux shirt for Burns Night, I tried my regulation doublet with the trews....

No trews here, but you're looking mighty sharp (and smart) in yours. Well done!

Your jacket and waistcoat are excellent with those trews. Smart combo in my opinion. What socks (hose) will you wear with that outfit and would buckled shoes factor (or change) that decision?

That is a great look. I have trews but have never worn them with a formal jacket - now I need to find an occasion.

In the photo I am wearing simple black socks and my ghillie brogues (because they were handy from trying this outfit with my kilt. For the future, I will wear nicer black shoes like my brogues and black socks.

Thank you. They are a pair of ex military trews I got off ebay. They are modern Douglas (although the ebay poster thought they were MacKenzie) which would likely mean they were Cameronian/Scottish Rifles trews. They are regimental weight wool and military style with fish-tail backs.

Indeed you should!! I am interested in trying mine with Argyll jackets and waistcoats for a less formal look. I am excited to see other peoples images and how they have worn theirs!!

Mine are also ex-military and I have worn them mainly as smart looking trousers with a sweater. Occasionally we have cold weather and this was a good warm alternative. For dressy events I prefer wearing a kilt (and I find people have now come to expect it.) Another new adventure - thanks for the posting.
