    Turducken

I wasn't sure where to put this: Recipes, DIY, Show your pics...

Here are some pictures of a Turducken I put together for my side of the family's Christmas celebration:

    The 'guest of honor':

The 'stack'. Deboned turkey on the bottom, layer of stuffing, deboned duck, layer of stuffing, deboned chicken, more stuffing.

Stitching it together: I used wooden skewers to close the birds back up:

Flipped it over and and it looks like a regular stuffed turkey!

How it looked once it was cut open:

    Drool rabble. Drool.

Aren't you afraid that John Maddon is going to show up at your house and eat the whole stack?

i'm not a vegetarian by any means, i love to eat meat!
But there's just something very.......decadent... and almost obscene about "turducken."

Reminds me of those Wendy's burgers the college kids used to make called the "offender"...it was a chicken burger with bacon and cheese....and a beef patty added to it!

I could farm all the food I need out here on my little patch of land, but I just can't bring myself to do the meat thing. I eat meat, but I'm just not going to grow it.
Haven't you ever wrapped a piece of beef next to a piece of chicken next to a mushroom in bacon all on a stick, and cooked it of course. MMMMMM.

We had one at my fiancé's family's early thanksgiving in October. I couldn't believe it when Beth told me about it. It was awesome though.

On another note I just watched River Cottage Christmas on TV and Hugh (the host) did a ten stacked roast - I read somewhere that he's done a sixteen stacked one before. Don't think I fancy that...

Went to a friend's for a Thanksgiving dinner a couple days after Thanksgiving, and he made terducken. It was epic. We made candied yams and mash, the none of the British people in attendance had ever even heard of candied yams.

It's all those non-meat fixins that get you. It's not that hard to eat a five pound roast in one day, but when you throw a corn field, a wheat field, and a vegetable farm in there, you start getting full pretty quick.
