Unkilted Wedding
My family told me a while back my step sister was getting married in august. So August is near and a week or so ago they told me that the wedding was for August 8th. Much to my displeasure this was the same day as a concert of my favorite artist, Bob Dylan with Willie Nelson I might add. <rant> I have been conscripted into the wedding as an usher. You think the least thing they could have done was tell me a little earlier so I could have bought tickets for another concert, but no I now I have to sell my tickets (very good seats btw) and hope the other concerts still have some good seats left because if I am going to drive 3 or 4 hours to see him I don't want to be stuck in the nose bleeds. <end rant> Yes I know I am being kind of selfish but I do think i deserve a little something for myself every once and a while and this is her "big day" and all.
Sorry I just had to get this out there and off my chest. oh and if I could go kilted it would be a different story but I don't have the time or funds to get the things I need (shoes, nice sporran, jacket, waist coat are the main things)

I know, I know I sound very selfish and i deserved that. I should be happy for her and I am. I will be attending the wedding and there will be plenty of pictures when we get done and I'll get a friend of mine to photo shop me into a kilt for you guys.

I feel your pain, my friend. When I found out that Aerosmith was playing Edmonton and ZZ Top was opening for them, I immediately snapped up 2 tickets right in front of the stage, on the 2nd level (for optimal view). Turns out we can't go due to an inability to change our flight schedules and I have to get rid of the tickets.
AC/DC also playing Edmonton -- and on the day I COULD make it, but alas the show is sold out...
<sigh>
