Very, very frustrated.
I spent a lot of spare time I had this last month making a Christmas gift for my sister-in-law's boyfriend.
It was this Sgian dubh:

After this picture was taken I applied four more layers of oil which REALLY brought out the spelt. I made a lovely leather sheath for it and stamped it with a nice Celtic knot. And I polished the blade to a lovely shine.
Last night, proud of the finished result, I showed Diane and then left it on the computer desk.
Now it's gone.
I have searched every inch of the house. In the oven. In the microwave. In the chicken coop. Under the bed and sheets. I even took every single thing out of my bin in case I had thrown it out by accident.
It is NOWHERE to be found. It seems to have grown legs and walked off all on its own.
I am very, very frustrated.

Arlen,
Take a nice walk, have a cup of tea, and don't look for it.
Don't think about it
Put on some music
Chat with your lovely wife
Then later on have another search.
This helps me.
When I am in "stressed out search mode" I never find what I am looking for.
When I relax and do other things I generally find it
Cheers

Coyote's afoot for sure!
If you have a big magnet to wave around...maybe...
Or use a flashlight hoping for a reflection...
Guessing its within falling distance...
Hate to tell you this...but it gets worse as you age....

Chin-up Arlen, I'm sure it will "turn up" when the time is right! Until then relax, hug your wife, and look at all that beautiful snow. I have been known to lose things while standing in one place - in the end they always resurface from their cosmic hiding places.
Happy Christmas!

First, did you check the freezer because it might be in "the pile."
Second, Panache is right, trying to control something you have no control over usually gets nowhere fast. Let the back of your mind work on it.

That's okay...yesterday I found the Leatherman Micra tool that I lost six months ago underneath a pair of shoes on my bedroom floor.
Sh*t happens...

Oh no, Arlen! I'm so sorry to hear this Panache is right, though. Stop looking for it for a little while and take a breather... you might be able to come across it again after you've had a chance to stop thinking about it for a moment. Sometimes that really is a great way to find something (I know, if you're anything like me you can't let something rest).
Could one of the cats have batted it behind or between furniture?
Good luck finding it *hugs*

I really hate when I do this. It always ends up appearing when you least expect it, and almost certainly at the very top of a pile where you swear you have looked at least a dozen times. Go on about your business and let the search slip into the back of your mind. I'm sure you'll find it once the time is right.
