Wedding Anniversary
So the wife and I have known each other for 20 years, been together for 5, married for 2 come this October.
Now, the wife isn't your typical woman. She doesn't want jewelry. No new dress and a night out on the town. No. She wants for us to go get a new tattoo. Not each others names (there's a curse on folks that do that), but something else. I pay for hers, she pays for mine... Happy Anniversary!
Me, I'm planning a small St Andrew's Cross with a thistle in the middle.
She wants in nice script my pet name for her... mo ghraigh.
I'm pretty stoked on the whole idea.

Re: Wedding Anniversary
Congrats!
We've been married 3 1/2 years and when I brought home some roses and a bottle of her favourite wine, she asked what the occasions was...
Post some pics when they're done.

Re: Wedding Anniversary
There was a moment of panic when I was half way through reading this - had I forgotten our anniversary?
It took a few moments to think back - no it is in November - the tenth thereof.
It must be 32 years now - 1979. Where did the time go?
Keep up those romantic remembrances, fellows.

Re: Wedding Anniversary
Sorry to be pedantic, but wouldn't the proper spelling be "mo ghraidh"?

No worries.
In truth, I've seen both spellings. My Gaelic is nearly non-existent, so if I'm spelling it wrong this would be a good time to find out.
Good news is our anniversary isn't until 10-10, so I've got time to do more homework.

Re: Wedding Anniversary
Fortunately I have no problems remembering my wedding anniversary: 14 February.
Thirty-four years ago there was no big commercial fuss about the date in South Africa. We picked it at random off the calendar.
Only when my father-in-law tried to book a hall did we realise we had problems . . .
May you have many more years together, BuchananBiker.
Regards,

Re: Wedding Anniversary
I'm not actually an expert, because I'm relying on Google Translate. You might want to double check that spelling for this reason: in Irish, croí is a female heart (as in her heart), but chroí is a male heart (as in his heart). I'm assuming that the Scottish Gael would have a similar distinction.
