    A Wee visit to Inverness

I will be travelling through the city of Inverness on May 6 flying in around 9:30am and then leaving later that day around 14:30 from the train station. If there are any Xmarkers that would be in the Inverness area and would like to meet for a morning coffee/tea or lunch with a Canadian on pilgrimage, I would enjoy that.

Mine too, Kingussie to be precise. Not too far south from Inverness on the A9. And in my case, my great uncle is actually still alive and lives with my great aunt in Kingussie off of Gynack Road - about a 3 minute walk from the Duke of Gordon Hotel and High Street.

    Lukey,

I can give my great uncle and aunt a heads up if you are keen on stopping by for tea or perhaps a light lunch? Not sure how far south you will be traveling from Inverness, but Kingussie (off of Newtonmore Road/High Street/A86 motorway) is on the way to Edinburgh via the A9/M90 motorways. Highland hospitality at its best.

    Cheers,

    Sounds like we're all related!

Kyle, I will only be Inverness, and passing through Kingussie by train on my way to Pitlochry. Aye, if there are Xmarkers in the Pitlochry area that's also an option "for tea". I thank you for your gracious offer of hospitality in Kingussie. My train ticket won't allow for stops, unfortunately. Your great Aunt and Uncle must really be the epitome of Highland hospitality.

You won't have that much time in Inverness if you land at Dalcross airport at 9.30 as it's a few miles east of the town and by the time the bus gets you in (the bus station is next to the train station).

If you have luggage it would be inconvenient to lug around with you - fortunately the station does have a manned left luggage facility but it will be subject to a hand search.

Thank you, good sir. A great help. I am due to arrive tomorrow. Time permitting, I may try to visit the museum.
Thank you for the rail station link as well. I have just had a wonderful visit to Lewis and Harris.
