    Why I walked to work!!!

Well the weather forecasters actually got it right for once, it snowed. Here is why I walked to work.

My Subaru when I came home at 14:30. At 06:30 this morning it hadn't started snowing yet.

A good day for a walk in my Black Stewart

Yeah I like this stuff. Im much warmer than the people who go to work wearing a light jacket and scrubs. You have to figure scrubs might tip the scale at a few ounces of fabric and Ive got an 8 yard PV on.

Hope everyone who did get this weather has stayed safe, time to put on my Wellies and go shovel my car out.

Well a good hour and half of work and my car is ready to roll again. This sort of work is very invigorating and enjoyable, I know Im a sick human being to think it's fun to shovel snow. We had a good 4+ inches and it was drifted up a bit against my car. I also dug out the snow into the street so I and get easily into and out of my drive. Most important I moved all that snow so when the snow plows do come they dont just push it back into my drive.

Yep still kilted with my wellies on. These are really just farm gum boots but they work well.

I didn't have to go to an amusement park for this kind of fun.

Street cleaned and sidewalk shoveled out for the postal person.

Drive cleaned for my trusty Subaru. You can see a fairly tall pile on both sides of the drive. I got an honest workout this afternoon.

Had to dig out on the side of my house where the birds get fed on the ground. They do appreciate being able to get to the food and not have to find it in the snow.

Well Ill change to my running gear and get a little bit of a snow run in now. This is the best time to run because the traffic will be minimal. The streets will be quiet and the snow has yet to melt and refreeze thus becoming an ankle biter to run in. Every one stay safe in this weather and find ways to enjoy. My evening will be at the sewing machine finishing up on my Inverness cape.

Great pictures! Thanks for posting. That Black Stewart looks good in the snow - the contrast with the black and red, and the blend with the white overstripes, I suppose. You must be loved by postmen and birds all over your community. Good for you.

I have a hate/love relationship with shoveling snow. I hate to start, but once I get going I love the exercise, and find myself singing sonnets like, "I love thee, mournful, sober-suited snow" or "sober snouted sow".
I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

    Yes, great pictures.

I don't mind shoveling snow, but my back always complains about it very loudly. I am grateful for my snow blower.

You lucky rascal! All winter there have been two flurries at my house, with a little bit of sleet one morning. A friend in Topeka has 18 inches of the powdery blessing in his yard. I'd lie to have some of it. Your pictures look like it would be a good day to stay inside and knit or weave garters or finish a cape.

We had 8 inches here... Was a good day to stay home looking at the mess of the roads, my problem would have been the other drivers, but fighting with them for almost 50 miles didnt sound like fun.

Hopefully modot will have cleared the roads by the morning... On the upside, spent the whole day kilted at home

On behalf of the thirty-four letter carriers who work for me, Thank You. You would not believe how many people around here refuse to shovel their walks and driveways.

Had the day began with snow I would have. Ive got my mountaineering skis always available or if needed snowshoes. Problem was it didnt start to snow till I had been at work for a couple hours. I have been known to ski to work in the past though.
