XMTS Reunites Long Lost Cousins
I just received this E-mail in my professional inbox:
Hello,
My name is William xxxxxxx and I live here in Anchorage, AK. I am working on a family tree for me and my extended family. While searching for names on the internet and as well as family documents, I came across my Great-grandmother, Nathalia Dementieff (nee Clark).
I searched her name online and to my surprise I found a post by you to a website xmarksthescot.com. In it you state that Nathalia Clark Dementieff was your great-grandmother.
I am so curious to know who you are. By someway we must be of relation since Nathalia was in fact of Irish, Russian and Yupik decent. I also looked into the xmarksthescot site and came across a picture of you. You bear a striking resemblance to my grandmother, Beninga "Mollie" Dahl (nee Dementieff).
I hope you do not mind I e-mailing you and I look forward to any response you have to this e-mail.
Regards,
William
It was very exciting to hear from a long lost relative. I hope he has some more family information for me. Who would have thought that putting your info. on XMTS would be a tool for others to find you? O'Neille

That is very cool O'Neille! Who would have thought this would occur from just being part of this little cyber community.

"A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon

That's the sort of story I love to hear. When researching my mother's surname, Mewhort, which was originally Dutch, I kept getting hits to athletics results of a young lady athlete from Hawaii of that surname. I made further enquiries and eventually made contact and it turns out her father is related to me.
Its really great to hear, O'Neille, that other people are now hitting on x-marks and making contact in this way.
