    Yeah...well, Klingons don't cry

...but I have to admit to getting a wee lump in my throat watching this:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=80_HKdvNhgA

I know we have a few Star Trek fans here so I thought that I'd toss this out.

It's remarkable how involved in the characters one gets having watched it for soooooo many years and in every incarnation.

    And what have I learned?

"Who am I to argue with the captain of the Enterprise?"

And as far as the Enterprise goes...

"You treat her like a lady and she'll always bring you home."

They seem to keep putting the release date of the next movie off abut I can't wait to see Sean of the Dead as Scotty.

A "wee lump"? I'm sobbing, thinking about the scene with Spock in the engine room. Maybe that's the vodka tonics talking?

There's that little list of, "Everything I've ever needed to know, I learned in kindergarten" right? Well, I think it ought to be, "Everything I've ever needed to know, I learned from Star Trek"!

    Be well,

Actually, there was a poster once that was titled "Everything I needed to know I learned from Star Trek".

Seek out new life and new civilizations.
    Non-interference is the Prime Directive.
Keep your phaser set on stun.
    Humans are highly illogical.
There's no such thing as a Vulcan death grip.
    Live long and prosper.
Having is not so pleasing a thing as wanting; it is not logical but it is often true.
Infinite diversity in infinite combinations (IDIC).
Tribbles hate Klingons (and Klingons hate Tribbles).
Enemies are often invisible - like Klingons, they can be cloaked.
Don't put all your ranking officers in one shuttle craft.
When your logic fails, trust a hunch.
    Insufficient data does not compute.
If it can't be fixed, just ask Scotty.
Even in our own world, sometimes we are aliens.
When going out into the Universe, remember: "Boldly go where no man has gone before!"

I particularly like the one about all of your officers in the shuttle craft.

Actually, a gentleman has written a book by that title. An excellent book, one of the best I've read, and full of life lessons to be garnered from the series.

Thanks for posting that, I still think they pulled Enterprise far too quickly, I wish they had given it a real chance.

Simon Pegg & the creepy villian from "Heroes" are the only two names I recognize from the new cast. Wife & I love Pegg, so we'll prpbably see it in theaters.
