    Bagpipe Lessons

Not sure if this is the right area to post in, but I'll take my chances. I'm interested in taking bagpipe lessons in Northern VA. Anyone have any suggestions?

As a failed piper, all I can say is "best of luck". If you can survive the 'misery stick" and come out a piper, then i raise a glass to you!

    Piping info

    www.bobdunsire.com/cgi-bin/ubb/ultimatebb.php
Probably the best source for bagpipe information on the Web. All levels, from beginning to open pipers. You can pick up a link from that site to Dunsire's Bagpipe Web Directory, a compendium of links to all things piping related on the Web.

How far north are you in Virginia? I may be able to recommend a couple people based on where you are located.

    Drone on!

My daughter has expressed interest also, so I talked with the drum major of a local pipe (The Saint Andrews Pipes and Drums of Richmond) band at the Richmond show yesterday and he told me that they give lessons and have classes from raw beginners to advanced. You might try contacting a local pipe and drum group where you live. I suspect a lot of them offer lessons. It would be a good way to keep thier ranks filled.

Belive it or not, I did contact the Arlington Pipe and Drum, as well as the DC. Neither had anything. I did finally find someone in Alexandria. Sadly, I haven't been able to attend class the last month or so due to work and year end duties.
