calling all musicians: in memory of Turpin

There is currently a thread in remembrance of Turpin, sporran maker and all-around good man. This thread is to announce to all musicians (or enjoyers of music) that on Friday 26 April 2013 we will have a worldwide musical tribute to our fallen friend. Play a slow air/lament followed by a jig/reel/march in memory of Turpin, and post in this thread your local time when you play. For example, I'm in the eastern time zone, so I might say, "'Highland Cathedral' and 'Highland Laddie' at 6:30 pm EST." Obviously some time zones have no XMarkers, but let's see how much of the world remembers him. If you're not a musician, but you have access to recorded music, that's fine, too. Just post here what you played and when.

I'm in....I've been playing Flowers of the Forest (privately) for a lot of old friends, "fur friends," and the way too often sad public tragedies of late.

Weather and schedule permitting, I'd be happy to . . . ! Where did you hear he'd passed?
Only 9 notes. How hard could it be?

I'm not a musician, but I will play Pachelbel's Canon......done by the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards. Do a youtube search. It's a magnificent tune. Then I'll play Caledonia. RIP Turpin!!!!

Not a piper, but allowing for the time zones, Highland Cathedral will be on the CD player at the appropiate time.

Wherever you are, whenever you want to play, just tell us what and when.

At sunset, 7:54 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time, tomorrow evening my two favorite pipers will render "Flowers of the Forest", "The Dark Isle", and, as an anthem, "Where the Soul Never Dies".
