Help me find a wedding song.
This forum has helped me with numerous other items, so I figure I can't go wrong with this one.
I'm planning for my wedding next year. My lady and I want the first dance between us to be extra special, so we're getting a dance choreographed just for us. First step is to pick a song, but I can't quite find one that fits.
I'd love to find something up beat or fast paced like The Blood of Cu chulainn (The Boondock Saints theme, as most people would know it), but not something so main stream. What i'd REALLY like is something that starts a bit slow, then ends on a faster note. But, that's pretty specific, and i don't want to narrow my options too much, so my only requirement is no accordions. Preferably no lyrics, but if it's a killer song with lyrics that's fine too.
Any replies welcome, thanks for everyone's help/advice in advance!!!

Not a bagpipe song, but "The Luckiest" by Ben Folds is one that is often requested of my band.

That's fine, I'm mostly looking for celtic in general, not necessarily pipes.
Thanks for the suggestion, I'm putting it on the list.

Mhairi's Wedding perhaps?

Look nowhere else, the search has ended.
Based upon your description & desires, the ideal pipe tune would be Troy's Wedding by Colin Magee.
It's a 4-part, 6/8 jig. Modern in composition, yet retains traditional elements blended into one fine yee-ha tune.
Slan,

Seeing as I am in Bergen this coming Thursday I was going to suggest Wedding Day At Troldhaugen by Edvard Grieg.
Not a song but a charming tune.

What about the music of Jerry Goldsmith, very haunting music indeed.

My wife and I did a *lot* of work picking the music for our wedding; our first dance was "A Midwinter Waltz" by Boys of the Lough (even though our wedding was in the fall). Beautiful tune. We followed that with the "family dance" (father-of-the-bride/bride and mother-of-the-groom/groom, et al) waltzing to Howie MacDonald's version of the "Skye Boat Song".
Our entry music was Blair Douglas's "Landlord's Walk". Good stuff.
I very strongly recommend the Average White Band's "Cut the Cake" if you'll have music for the cake cutting.
