MacCrimmon's Lament originated from the piobaireachd by the same name. It truly is a poignant composition with depth & beauty.

I've always enjoyed Fred Morrison's smallpipe expertise. He is a master of the instrument. A number of videos of him can be found on youtube.com too.

    Slan yall,
    steve

I just watched this and am in awe. I've not been priviledged to see Martyn Bennett's playing before, and unfortunately from what I'm reading, he's gone now... far too young, it seems, much like Gordon Duncan.

Mr. Bennett's playing in that vid is beautiful. Thanks for sharing it.

He's one "hill" of an instructor too.
The man can also design some wonderful instruments.

Yes Martyn was a brilliant man.. Played the fiddle, piano, pipes.. He has a few albums floating out there.. He's also featured on a comp album the grand concert of scottish piping hosted I believe at the college of piping.. The album also features Gordon Duncan and several other brilliant pipers on it..

Martynn actually has a few CD's on iTunes. They aren't traditional though, but he does play pipes everyonce in a while.
But this is a fantastic example of solid, clean small pipping! I really want a set of small pipes haha.
