looking for a song
So, I am researching my family lineage (robertson clan), and they have a specific pipe song, that I am interested in hearing. It is called Teachd Chlann Donnachaidh. Does anyone here have it, or know where I can get it to either download, or listen to? Thanks in advance.

Thanks, I tried the same thing. Was kinda hoping someone here had it on their machine, or knew where I could find it.

I have "Struan Robertson" and "Colonel Robertson's March," but I haven't found the one you named yet.

IIRC, the english annunciation is something along the lines of "Calling the robertsons". GRanted thats not exact, as I dont speak gaelic...but, its close.

Hail, clansman! I, too, am a member of clan Donnachaidh (Reed sept). Unfortunately, I couldn't locate "The Clan Donnachaidh Has Arrived" either.
I do have a suggestion - send an e-mail to Bill Robertson ( billrobertson@donnachaidhinternational.com ), the Vice President of Donnachaidh International. Man, if the leaders of our clan can't tell you where to find our clan's official pipe music, then brother it ain't to be had!
Best o' luck! And if you locate it, please let me know; it'd be a fine addition to my collection of Scottish music.

UPDATE: Sadly, no additional info. He sent me a link to the clan website, but stated he wasnt sure where to find either the sheet music, or a recording of it. So, with regret, I am emptyhanded. This will, however, cause me to be a little more creative in my search.
Namey, the highland games on the 23d, where the Robertson clan will have a booth set up. Should they have the sheet music, I'll have my buddy play it on the pipes, and I'll create an MP3 for everyone. Alternatively, if they have a CD, I'll simply buy that. IN the meantime, anyone finds anything, post it up!!

Okay, I have this foolish pride thing that I can find almost anything on the net. That's not always true but follow me here.
First clue: from the Clan Donnachaidh Music page
Another famous clan pipe tune is the "Laird of Struan's Salute", also known as the "Coming of the Robertsons" which legend has it was played as the clan marched to Bannockburn in 1314.
Second clue: several sources say it is famous, so we're missing something here.
Third clue: try variations of Laird of Struan's Salute and find Struan Robertson's Salute and variations of that.
Fourth clue: that is a famous tune on many web sites.
If this is all correct, you'll recognize the famous tune right away here .
That's from the cd Best of Scottish Pipes & Drums at Amazon.com, but now somebody else might be able to give a version they really like.
Of course, I could be dead wrong on all this.
