That's a great look - I haven't seen one with the hair "fringe" before! How does it sound? And does the fringe flip over the skin affecting the "playability"?

    Thumbs up

The tipper looks a bit clunky for me, but otherwise this is very beautiful work.

What's your plan with that straight razor btw.

The "fringe" is stiff, I actualy wrapped it with coban so it would dry laying flat.
The tipper is to fat, it's kind of hard for me to carve round objects by hand. I now have a lathe so future tippers will be machine carved and work/look much better.

Straight razor was what I used to shave the drum with.

Edit - The fringe does not effect the sound that I can notice. I do the same with Djembe's and it does not change the sound.

Well ... I could get that thing ready to shave your face for you, I mean, if you ever wanted to that is, no charge. The first 'hit' is free.

XMan - I'll pass thank you. For some reason,
get that thing ready to shave your face
    Sounded like
get that thing ready to slit your throat.

    LOL

I've got a couple of really nice old straights from Grampa.
