    The Peatbog Faeries

All this talk of Jethro Tull....

I'm going to see the Peatbog Faeries in North Yorkshire in the middle of June. They are a band out of the Isle of Skye. Highly original and great to be able to catch them live.

"The Peatbog Faeries are an ecclectic mix of individuals from various musical backgrounds. The line-up has slowly evolved over the years, with almost twenty years since their first performances as a folk band in pubs in and around the Isle of Skye and fifteen years since their first commercial release. "Mellowocity". "

Pictures will follow. Euro Tour info here.

Lucky you, I have always loved the song The Manali Beetle off their album Mellowsity.

    Hi Chris,

We we're named 'Sithean na moine' by an old woman in Harris. It translates directly as the Peat Faeries. The spelling of faeries is quite common here, don't really know why.

    Best Wishes,
    Peatbogs

***. I really enjoy their style of music. It seems to drift all the way from traditional styles to modern "Celtic" style and beyond. Sometimes all in the same song!

Can't wait to see your pics.
