    "Whiskey in the Jar"

    I'm a bit stunned.

I just finished a conversation with someone who was convinced that Metallica wrote "Whiskey in the Jar."

I'm not certain how I feel about this...

Methinks kind sir they were yanking your sporran. If I am correct it is an old Irish song and no one knows who originally wrote it. In fact part of the chorus is old Irish jumbled lyrics just used to work with the song. Of course, I could be wrong, however I don't think I am this time. Try to google the song and see what comes up. Great song though!

There's a lot of Metallica I enjoy, but that cover ain't one of 'em, by far.

Of course they did. It's on the same album where they did the original versions of "I've Got You Under My Skin", "Big Rock Candy Mountain", and of their first instrumental epic "Toccata in Fugue in D Minor". Rock ON !

    hehehehehehehehe.

I have no input other than to say that it's one of my favorite songs done by Barleyjuice. I dare say that regardless of who wrote it Barleyjuice does it better than Metallica ever could.

    Sad, but not surprising.
