    Details:
Announcing! The Fifth Annual Rampant Lion Picnic & BBQ for the
Celtic Community of North Central Texas. This event is for
the whole family, entire clans and anyone with a Celtic
Connection! Please bring a meat to share, or a main dish.
We will be cooking those items right in the park.
(Chief Cooks will be Terry McMabry & Ross McCaskill) The formula
we have used in the past seems to work well, which is to bring
enough food for your family plus 1 or 2 more. Also, it may take a wee
bit longer to cook the food than you’re used to.. but as the people
will tell you from past years… it’s worth the wait! Come early – stay
late! We have the park reserved the entire day, so please don’t
feel you have to rush off!

Here are some suggested meats that have been brought in years past:

Brisket, Shish-Ka-Bobs, Grillin’ Veggies, Pork Fingers, Chicken, Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, etc. The point being, bring what you want to eat and share… be creative!

Also, other foods that have been a hit: Short bread, cookies, Potato Salad, Beans, Fruit trays, veggie trays, cheese trays, deviled eggs and things to munch on!

Things you could bring with you:
    1. Your food items to share
    2. A Card Table, Picnic Cloths (if you have them)
    3. Camp chairs or blankets (plenty of nice grass to spread them on)
    4. Citronella candles and/or insect repellants
    5. Beverages for your family
    6. Ice Chests / Ice
    7. Frisbees, Outdoor games, Horseshoes? Volleyball? Croquet?
    8. Cups, Plates, Utensils, etc.
Anything Celtic! Tartan and Clan banners, Rampant Lion and Scottish Flags

I know for me and for others it is nice to know what you might be bringing to the event. Especially if you decide to bring Hamburgers or Hotdogs, members can get together and agree on splitting condiments, and the stuffings such a Lettace, Tomato, Onions, Pickles etc.

Thanks and hope to see you all there!

    Cool Whoa

The north Texasites are taking over!

I don't know if I'd be able to make this at this point, however this sounds like a lot of fun. I'll have to get back to you as the time gets closer. Even so, this sounds fun!

Man, that sounds like such a blast. I'm SO ready for summer time BBQs. A kilted BBQ would be that much the better.

    Bradley,
It's just a hop skip and a jump from NM to DFW. Although don't do it kilted, people would look even more strangely at you than before.

Another Drumming event? You know there are other types of activities to attend. Like kilted ones that don't involve the boy scouts or venturing at all.
