What: Guided hike (I'll be kilted, others may not be as I'm also offering it to the Asheville Hiking Meetup group) When: 7 February 2009, 0900 hours Where: Montreat watershed 15 miles east of Asheville Particulars: Weather will be a big factor in the final destination, but the ideal would be from Montreat to the top of Graybeard Mountain, approximately 8 miles round trip with 3,000 foot total elevation gain. Lots of historical features; lovely forests and streams. If we get on the trail soon after 0900 we'll be back between 1500 and 1600...just in time to grab a few brews at the Green Man brewery, then hit Jack of the Wood pub for dinner before the Gaelic Storm concert at Grove Park. Directions: http://www.meetup.com/asheville-hiki...Action=editing Other stuff: We could meet for breakfast in Black Mountain before the hike. We'd need to be at the restaurant by 0730.

Kilted Teacher and Wilderness Ranger and proud member of Clan Donald, USA Happy patron of Jack of the Wood Celtic Pub and Highland Brewery in beautiful, walkable, and very kilt-friendly Asheville, NC. New home of Sierra Nevada AND New Belgium breweries!
Looks like we could make it to Greenman and then to Jacks.

I'm not sure that there will be burgers to flip like there were last time you were at Greenman, Nelson..... ...but the beer will be cold!
