I don't live near Birmingham, but I wouldn't mind living in Bluebell (Hart of Dixie country) - "Pass the Lemon Breeland, if y'all don't mind."
Welcome to the forum from the mountains of northern New Mexico! Once, I did spend a pleasant day in Birmingham, part of it in Legion Field watching the Crimson Tide play the Seminoles. But, that was a long time ago - 1967.
I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

I am not in Birmingham but just slightly north of there in Huntsville Alabama. I also sit on the board for the Tennesse Valley Scottish Society which is based in Huntsville. I hope you can make it to our Highland Games in October.

Greetings McRoss, and welcome to X Marks from Delaware. My oldest daughter lives in Florence so, I get down that way on occasion. A really beautiful part of our country.
Harold's suggestion, to attend the N. Alabama Scottish Festival & Highland Games in October, would be a good way to meet some fellow, kilted, Alabamans' and even perhaps some XMTS's.
And you know... I was just thinking that early October would be a good time for me to visit my daughter.

Mookien, I had the opportunity to spend some time in Clovis, NM several years ago, and got over to Santa Fe - talk about beautiful!!! I think my father-in-law was at that same game!
Harrols I have marked October 5th on the calendar. I'm up in Huntsville about once a month anyway on business. I'm excited to hear about the Tennessee Valley Scottish Society, that's a closer than some of the other groups I'd found online.
If any of yall are ever coming through the 'Ham and would like to get coffee or a beer, give me a shout!

Thanks for the invite. I hope I can take you up on it some day. I'm pleased to read that you enjoyed your visit to NM.
Tell your father-in-law that the Seminole fans were cheering before the game, ... while the score was still tied. Surprisingly to everyone, it ended up a tie - like kissing your sister. But, for the 'Nole fans the sister looked like Lemon Breeland. For the 'Bama fans I suspect she looked more like Mom's Mabley. For me it was just great to see Bear Bryant at work.
