DC area Dec 28-Jan 2, 2008 ?
I'll be staying in Front Royal, VA the week after Christmas. I might be game to drive over to the big city or suburban DC for a get-together if others are interested. Looks like the Royal Mile pub might be a good spot, and while that is about 1.5 hours drive, my arm could be twisted....

If we can get out of Canada we'll be home in Virginia in a few days. A good kilt afternoon / night would be excellent. (Unfortunately timing [and now weather] have kept us from a SOKS kilt night while here).
Damn snow.

Excellent. My darling wife has an agenda for our activities in her head, but I haven't got a clue yet. Will get possible dates out to the rabble asap.
Question: My son, MadBagpiper, has just gotten his new pipes. He's still in the break-in period (can't play more than 15 minutes at a time, twice a day..has to manage the moisture and oil balance in the wood so that they don't split), but I bet he'd be game to play them for the rabble one evening. Is the Royal Mile a pipe-friendly venue?

If he can't play there, he can play at my house.

Our schedule has now been nailed down. We'll actually be spending one night at the home of a friend in NW DC, so that puts us really close to the Royal Mile. Looks like the winner is Monday night, December 29th.
