Enter the Haggis in Williamsburg
I know there are a few Hampton Roads people on here, so I thought I'd post this: Next Thursday a Toronto-based band called Enter the Haggis will be playing at Pipes and Pints in the Burg. It's at 9 O'clock and tickets are 5 bucks in advance, 10 at the door. I don't know the band, but I believe anything's an excuse for a kilt night. I know it's not a good day for travel (middle of the week) but if anyone nearby wants to join in the fun, it seems hard to miss when the band has that name!
Also, just an FYI: Royal Scots Dragoon Guards and the Band of the Coldstream Guards play January 17th at the Ferguson Center (at CNU).

I just looked at their website, and it shows that this show is cancelled and to be rescheduled. http://www.enterthehaggis.com/tour.cfm
As far as if the band is good or not, I would have to say a definite YES. Click the following link to hear some of their music.

Enter The Haggis is a great band IMHO. My 14-year old also likes them, and he's not so into Celtic rock as I am. I would definitely go see them if the came to the DFW area.

I have heard this band a couple of times and also agree that they make a GREAT show. I have their CD's and always enjoy listening to them. They're Irish-orientened but make for a great Celtic musical experience.

THanks for the heads up! And I'm glad to hear that they're a good band. Hopefully they'll reschedule soon.

Actually, it appears that there's still a chance of seeing them play on this coming Wednesday in Ashland. Any Richmond area folks around?
I'm not sure of when it would be and the price. It's at a coffee/tea place, which doesn't sound like a place that would serve my favorite refreshing beverages, but it would be great for those who choose not to imbibe or are under 21.

I've downloaded some of their music off of Napster. They are pretty good. Unfortunately C'ville is a little far to drive at night in the middle of the week.

Wish I could be there. I want "One last drink" played at my wake; one day.

I want multiple last drinks drunk at my wake, but that's for another thread I suppose.
I found out the Ashland concert is 20 bucks if you order ahead of time. Seeing as how the Pipes and Pints gig was 5 bucks in advance and much closer to me, I'm going to wait till they reschedule in order to see the band. I'll post as soon as I find out anything!
