Gaelic Storm in Asheville, NC
The Grove Park Inn will once again have Gaelic Storm as the headliner band for their Celtic Weekend event. The concert is Saturday night, February 7th. If you've ever been to the Grove Park you know what a great venue it is for a kilt night.
Barclay and I will definitely be there. Any others???

I can't make it out that far, but I do want to say, if you've never seen them before...you should try to make it. They put on a GREAT show.

I'll be there for sure, Bill! I'm really looking forward to it and to seeing you guys again.
I was going to kill two birds and look at staying at the GPI, but decided differently when I saw room rates from $320-$745 for the night! And they're not dog friendly, either! Oh, well. The Holiday Inn will have us!
I've never been to a concert there - is it reserved or all general admission? Bar available?

My understanding is that there is a reserved area for the people that are there for the "Celtic Weekend" package, and general admission for the rest of the schlubs. There is alcohol available in several different areas within GPI...not sure of the actual set-up in the concert room, but I'm betting that you can wet your whistle with a minimum of bother (and a maximum of cash).
Look for a PM from me..

If anyone wants to put together a kilted hike that Saturday morning, and maybe a pub run before the show, I'd be very up for that.

aHH Jealousy oozes through my veins, as i think of Gaelic Storm being so close and yet so far away, a Kilt night as well. and the mention of the hike and pub crawl. Since they do this every year i can only hope to make it next time
yall enjoy and as always take pics to share.

I'm incredibly jealous! I just recently got into them, and I love them. I have some friends in and near Asheville... I wonder if I could make arrangements to be there. Not likely
