The Gathering - Edinburgh 7/24-7/26 Kilt Nights $ Meet Ups

Below are Kilt Nights and Meet Ups for those attending The Gathering in Edinburgh Saturday, July 25 and Sunday, July 26th. Please post your plans to attend any of them. I’ll be summarizing the posting attendance so all of us we have list who to look for.

A successfully revamped old style Edinburgh pub renowned for great variety of real ale and guest beers and a good selection of malts. Friendly local pub with no frills or themes.

Saturday. 7/25 @ 7 PM
The Castle Bar Kilt Night
6 Johnston Terrace
Good bit of work gone into this traditional pub with friendly service and well kept beer. Nestles directly under the castle opposite The Hub. Refurbished in recent years and has outside tables at the back on Victoria Terrace offering a smashing view over the rooftops and down to the Grassmarket.

Meet ups at Holyrood Park

Saturday 7/25 @ 2 PM at the TALISKER® TASTE EXPERIENCE tent

Sunday 7/26 @4:30 PM at the Main Stage of the Music tent. According to the map there is a place for food and drink next to it.

Also, I'll ask those of you who have a Clan affiliation and will be hanging out at your Clan tent to post that so we know where we might find you. I’m planning to have a supply of dandelions at the MacCallum Malcolm Clan Society tent where you can drop by and claim one. That will be an easy way to recognize one another. If I’m not there just tell them you are with XMarks and would like a dandelion that Ern Malcolm has left for you.

If you'll be carrying a cell phone state that so others with phones can PM each other to get the numbers.

I cannot get to the Friday evening meet as I am having dinner with my Clan Chief, but I wil pop into the Bow Bar later in the evening to see if you are all still there.

I will attend the 2.00pm Sat meet at Talisker.

I'll be out and about, but returning periodically to the Elliot tent.

I'll be at the Talisker tent on Saturday and will plan on the pub meeting that evening - though after the parade has finished.

May try for the Friday night gathering though I've no idea when we'll be getting to Edinburgh or what we'll feel up to by then (we're touring Reiver country before coming up).

I'm planning to attend the meet up at 4:30 on Sunday.
I plan on being at the gathering all day on the Sunday and will be spending some time at Clan Cunningham tent.

I will be around the Clan Farquharson tent on the Saturday and Sunday where I would hope to meet many XMarkers.

I do believe we should be able to make the 4:30 Sunday meet up. My son and I (he's the kilted one!) will be at the Gathering all day Saturday and participate in the clan parade. I think Sunday we're just gonna chill and try to relax on our last day in Edinburgh. We leave Tuesday, hooo rayyyy!

Looks like I won't make your Saturday night meeting unless you will still be there after the parade.

The clans start to muster at 19:15 and the last group starts the march at 20:40. Being with Clan Sinclair I'm guessing we will be with the last group.
Now getting that many people to walk a mile, I'm guessing an hour?
