Great SEKS 6/15/08 !!!!!!!!!
Attention SEKS!!!!! On Sunday June 15th (time to be determined)
Come and welcome Steve and Bobbie of Freedom Kilts fame at Paddy's Irish Pub on the grounds of Chataeu Elan Winery.
We'll need to be a little flexible on time but Steve is really wanting to meet as many X-Markers as he can on this trip so as soon as we can confirm flight times for their return trip we will make the final announcement.
This will be an opportunity for SEKS like you cannot imagine! no wait, I mean, Steve's traveling 4,000 miles for SEKS , no no no .... I mean, Freedom Kilts, Irish Pub and SEKS That's what it's all about !
Sound off if you can make this very special event. Trust me Lads, those who make it will not be disappointed. Let's make a good showing for these two great members of our kilted community and have SEKS send them home with BIG smiles on their faces.

Arrrrrrrrrrrrrgh! Unfortunately, Mrs Splash and I will be in Franklin that weekend for the Taste of Scotland festival..

Turpin, when are you headed to Blairsville? Remember there's a ceilidh in Franklin on Friday night... Hmmmmm, conversely, for the Franklin crowd, there's music in Blairsville on Saturday night. Either way, it's about 50 miles.
I really need to hear Hunting McLeod's new line-up; but Joan's foot is in a cast following surgery, so we'll have to see how she's holding up by Saturday.

Joan is always welcome to take a load off at the Gordon Tent. The grounds are pretty easy to negotiate. And I will definitely be there for the Concert Saturday night. HM puts on a great show.
Unfortunately I won't be able to get away from ATL until around 6 PM, so I will miss the caleidh (D@mn kids camp that ends at 6 on Friday!). Hope to see you there, Ken. I'll be at the Gordon tent most of both days.

Given the short notice and flexibility required for scheduling this turned into a great breakfast between Bobbie, Steve and I. Mimi's serves a great breakfast and on Sunday morning we had most of the place to ourselves which gave us a great, relaxed environment to talk.
Bobbie and Steve were great to talk with. A face to face chat is so much better than over the phone. But above all they are just excellent people and I really enjoyed the chance to meet you both. Thanks for making such an effort to stop in.
I enjoyed their first hand accounts of Kilt Kamp and we had great conversations about kilts and leather as well as Steve's adventures in my small hamlet of Jefferson. I'm now in possession of one of the new X-Marks the Scot Badges. This is truly a beautiful piece of work made of solid cast pewter.
Steve was carrying his own personal museum of kilts in the car so on the way out I was treated to a personal viewing of one of Barb's Kilts in Highland Granite, A Freedom Kilt Casual and Dress model and to top it all of.... an Isle of Sky. I swear there were harps when he revealed it.
As I drove home from breakfast I was once again amazed at the diverse backgrounds and the depth of knowledge and experience represented by this clan at X-Marks (and wishing I had gotten one more of those Blueberry muffins to go).
Thanks again Bobbie and Steve!

Man, I am sorry Ruth and I missed the breakfast. We stayed up in Franklin on Sunday morning and enjoyed a nice slow ride back. You are right about Steve's Isle of Skye. It is a thing of beauty and you will not believe what he can hide in those pockets.
I also agree that Steve and Bobbie are great folks. I enjoyed meeting them on Friday at the Kamp.
