Kilts in the Burbs
The First ever Kilts in the Burbs was held last night at St. James Well in Port Moody, BC. It was a small gathering of 10 people with the majority in kilts. When I arrived at the pub, I didn't even have to ask, they already pointed me to the table where Colin, Andrew, Kiltedchic and Khensu were arleady at.
Before I arrived, I had a feeling that we were going to meet a Scotsman and he was going to talk some 'trash' about our kilts and how we wore them. Too bad Bear wasn't there, he would've had some interseting conversation with him.
Just as we were leaving, that guy spoted us and started to tell his drinking buddy/friend about our kilts and that our kilts weren't wool. His friend looked at our kilts and said that he was a member of the SFU Rugby Team and the team is expecting a delivery of 4 kilts from a local Kilt maker.
That was my recollection of the First ever Kilts in the Burbs, hopefully there will be more KIB in the future.

I've GOT to get a business trip out there so I can attend one of these things!
Ever since I left the "local kilt company", there have been NO kilt nights around here. They used to be weekly... if not "twice-a-weekly". (Nice grasp of the English language Carbomb.)
The only kilt nights I have anymore are onstage... and it's REAL tough to socialize and converse. I'm about ready to take one of your pictures, and cut-and-paste myself in it just to get that old feeling again.

Hey some of us were wearing wool and flashes ;) But it was a good night out and good food with good people. And to save me from the rain, I even got a ride home from bcmtnbka. Thanks again my friend.

Half way through the night we realized that nobody had brought a camera. Sorry Hank, next time.
It was a good night, Bear was definetly missed, but couldn't make so that he could work on people's anticipated kilts.
We did have one loud mouth Russina/Scot that seemed to think he was the authority of everything tartan. Nice shorts you got on there buddy! Anyway, from the volume of his voice and the roll of the eyes all the waitresses gave him I suspect that he likes to be the center of attention, and was upset that we were on this evening. He got the hint and took a hike pretty quickly.
It was good to see some other local kilters, and nice to have some good conversations. I think I have converted a few of these guys to the pub's specialty...guinness, crab, and asparagus soup......yummy.
PS Jimmy, anytime you can find an excuse to make it out his way (remember next August)we'll make sure we do it up right.

Oops, I've fixed that problem. I'm just so used to crap soup, and when I get the good stuff it throws me off a bit.

Bwaaahaaahaaahaaa!!!
Kind of reminds me of those guys at the hockey games that are always shouting, "SHOOT! SHOOT THE DAMNED PUCK!!!"
Then they get home, their wives sit them down and tell them that they've scheduled an appointment with a doctor to discuss Viagra.
