NYC Kilt Night Nov 30
I got a email from GALICIAN about having a Kilt Night for Saint Andrews Day.
So I will put it out there is anyone up for one on Nov 30, before the city gets to crazy with the Holiday season.

Yeah, the NYC crowd is long overdue for a meet. But Nov. 30 is, what, a Sunday? The trouble with Sundays is that pesky thing called Monday morning...
The Friday or Saturday night would mean more freedom, pint-wise. Given the occasion, a wee dinner or a pub night on the Saturday night would be my preference...

I think Thanksgiving may get in the way for me. Alas.
That said, I think I'll at least start reading the boards again. :-)

Saturday the 29th is fine with me! Wee dinner/pub night sounds very good.

And this shall be for music, when no one else is near; The fine song for singing, the rare song to hear; That only I remember, that only you admire; Of the broad road that stretches and the roadside fire. (RL Stevenson)

NYC Kilt Night Nov 30th (or 29th)
Another thought about a kilt night on the 29th; those who want to get together can start talking about a plan for next year's Robbie Burns night in January. Last year's Burns dinner, complete with Chef's plate-cracking deeds, was legendary, and it would be fun to start thinking about the next...

Sat the 29 would be very hard for me to make. I work 6 days a week now, and Sat is the only day I get to be with my wife and son. So I dont think I could make a Sat kilt night.

Well, other than myself and BaysideBoy, no one else has come forward for the 29th either, Keith, so it's not like we have a kilt night yet; We'll just have to see if a consensus emerges. The 30th is not impossible for me, just less attractive; with Monday looming and the rest of the world napping, Sundays tend to be dull; more like tea time than a kilt night. Saturday night is a better time, in my experience.
Here's hoping the NY/NJ crowd comes out of the woodwork with some enthusiasm for a St. Andrew's meet of some kind. The biggest city in the U.S. and this is the best we can do??

NYC - St. Andrew's Eve (Nov. 29th)
Well, we are about a week out from St. Andrew's eve/day, and I'm sensing someone needs to take a lead in suggesting some specific plans for the NY/NJ kilted krew and X-markers in the area.
So, I would like to suggest what has already been suggested by some: that we gather, predictably, at St. Andrew's restaurant and bar at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 29th, for dinner or whatever solid or liquid victuals are desired, which will leave us free at a reasonable evening hour to wander down to Stout or whatever other pub(s) we like for a nightcap (hopefully several).
So, who's in? And if someone has a better notion, please herald it forth. But let's get together and raise a glass, in any case, lest the patron saint of Scotland grow wroth at our neglect!
