SouthernScot Got Married
Just so you'll know, we marched ole SouthernScot to the altar at claymore point and let Tammy make him an honest man this evening. He didn't even cry.
I thought you might enjoy the photos. That's me officiating:

I arrived early to assure that all was appropriately reverent.

Lest anyone should question whether ole southernscot "did the right thing." Or maybe it was Tammy who did that.

Scott has no idea we had a piper to do the honors. Stephen Beaton of Suwanee, GA did a terrific job. You should have seen Scott's face when we were ready to come in and the piper started the drones.

Five kids between them! We insisted on their reading the book, "Where Babies Come From and How to Stop Them." Scott said, "I always thought it was the water."
Needless to say it was a wonderful evening. I finished the service off with a handfasting ceremony after they had exchanged rings and said a blessin in Gaelic, Spanish, and English. (Tammy is part Puerton Rican.)
Once I pronounced them man-and-wife and told them to go to their corners and come our fighting, Scott placed his family taran (Lamont) on her shoulder to welcome her into his family.
A proper wedding all in all.

Congrats all around, and many happy years to the happy couple.
How is it that you're already home?

Jim
thanks so much for posting this news. Wonderful photos
it would have been nice to have been there, Tammy is a wonderful gal. it must be that beautiful tartan that got her to make the decision. Certainly Scot was not the reason.
Congrats Scot & Tammy !!

Well, I am old, and they are young. ith:
And there is the fact that I have church tomorrow while they have honeymoon. Once the bride's family started doing all that Puerto Rican music and dancing, I figured I had done all the damage I could do--I pronounced them, tied the knot, and signed the license--it was time for me to go home.
I'm sure they are still dancing.
BTW, Scott ordered a nice sash in the Lamont tartan which I tied around their wrists--assisted by one son of each of the couple--and slid it off still tied. They will put it on display, having been blessed with the desire that their marriage would last as long as the knot.

And may it ever be so!
My delightful young wife's and my hands were wrapped up in the pastor's stole, but not tied. I like the idea of keeping that sash tied.
Remember, tomorrow's purple.

Note that it was definitely a black tie afair. I as wearing a wool argyl jacket with the collar in order to "dress everything down" with my collar. I just didn't think a Charlie and and collar would look that well, and I don't havea black berathea argyl . . . yet. (Shhhh. Don't tell the little woman.)
But . . . I did wear my very nice tartan hose which--if you look closely--would have repeated the tartan pattern in both turn-downs if I had done a little bit of twisting on the left leg.
The point is, I guess I may have been a bit underdresed, but poor clergymen have limited means. And I claim liturgical license since the servic started at 4:00 and carried over into the evening. In essence, all were appropriately dressed. IMHO. Hahahahahahaha.
