Thinking ahead to the 2008 Nor Cal Burns Supper: Who Interested?

Now a few of us have already begun discussing next year’s Burn’s Supper. If it seems too early to think about this remember that reserving a Hall is best done early to get just the right place. We would also like to have the rabble be able to schedule the time off well in advance. Our Supper would be taking place on a Saturday night either around the end of January or beginning of February.
To that end it would be nice to get a rough idea of a head count for deciding on a place. So… how many would be interested in attending our next one?
Cheers

Last year's Burns' Night Supper was held in Pacifica (below San Francisco).
We have been investigating a place near Santa Cruz that might suit our needs.
Cheers

We had a great time last year, and are hoping to attend again. Santa Cruz might be a little geographically undesirable, however. Its a long drive over those hills.
Best regards,
Jake

Lots of places to stay all over the area. There is always the Brookdale Lodge. It is hauntted you know. Great buffet brunch on Sundays. Jamie I believe that I can make it Too early to say about the gf but I remain hopeful.

One of the reasons we wanted to get people thinking about this early is that we parents have to start thinking about Child care arrangements. Perhaps a blocked off corner of the Hall with sleeping bags for the little ones who need to lie down whilst their parents dance the night away? There are a few hotels in Scott's Valley, Several in Santa Cruz and environs (including the infamous Brookdale lodge )
Perhaps the next day a number of us could travel to the Monterey Bay Aquarium? The KiltedCodeWarrior, way2fractious, Sinbad, and myself had a grand time one fine Saturday last year. Imagine if a full rabble descended on them...hmmm
Cheers

Count me in. I've never been to Monterey, so it is a good excuse to make the drive.

You think after last year they wouldn't slam the gates, man the battlements, and ready the boiling oil? Deny any kilted one's entrance as barbarians from the California Highlands? Intrigue and skulduggery would have to be marvelously employed to gain access to their undersea worlds. (Especially after "flashing the octopii" -)

Well, count me in, especially if y'all end up doing it in the Santa Cruz environs. Let me know if there's anything I can help with and I'll do what I can.
