Vista Games Kilt Night - 28 June
The Games are scheduled to go from 9 AM (09:00 for Marines) to 5 PM (17:00 for Marines again) and I have heard that a few of you that are local will be at both days, and a few are coming in from far away and staying over......
So - How about a kilt night on the night of the 28th (Saturday for the date challenged) ?? Say around 7 PM (Oh yea that's 19:00 for the Marines)......... ?????
There are many locations available, several Irish pubs close by, and always Hooters, and who knows. Saturdays are usually hectic in the Irish pubs when the games are in town, and if there are a bunch of us, even Hooters may be crowded.
So maybe we should try for a place that takes reservations and start getting a good head count???
I'll be the recorder or scribe and after we figure out where we want to go, how many there are, make the call........... I can even run off some directions.
What do you say???
I'll start the count.
One!
Actually there will probably be six or seven more, from the guys who are manning our booth!

OK, count me in. And maybe my parents. And maybe the rest of Clan Sinclair.
Once you get an idea of where, I'll ask all of them if they want to go too.

I'll be at my friends wedding unfortunately, so I won't be able to solve all the problems of the world this time.
9 AM (09:00 for Marines) to 5 PM (17:00 for Marines again)
It starts when the little hand is on the 9, and the big hand is on the 12 for our Army brethren...

Jay,
Keep us posted, I have to head home Sat. after the games for Church on Sunday, but if we don't go too late.....
I would likely bring 4 (my good lady wife and twin daughters), possibly brother and his family, so who knows?????
Cheers, and thanks for getting this started,
Marshal Moroni

OK - We're getting into the home stretch.....
I went by and talked to the owner/operator of Hennessey's in Vista, and he was very receptive to us meeting there after the games. They have a seperate room that he will let us use, if we get enough people to attend.
So here's the plan:
Hennessey's = 224 Main Street, Vista California, 7 PM 28 June.
So far the count looks like this:
Marshal Moroni = 4, maybe 7
1 Old Sarge = 2
Acute Enigma = 3, maybe more
Kilted in USMC = 1
Me = 4
So that puts us at 14, maybe around 20.....
I told the proprietor that I would call him on Wednesday with a count, so that we could get the room.
Marshal and Acute: please try to get me some sort of definite number.
Anybody else is welcome, I just want to make sure we have room for us to socialize. They have good food, and they know how to poor Guiness. What more could we want?

Please add Bob and Sydnie to the list. Looking forward to meeting some folks from the area -- we recently moved to SD from Lakewood and San Fernando Valley, respectively. Bob will be in his newly acquired light blue denim UK!

ĦĦĦSuper!!!, that puts us up to sixteen confirmed and possibly a few more!!!
If it will help, I can gin-up a small map with directions from the Game site to Hennessey's, and have them at the games.

Well, the 16 turned into 8 but we had a grand time none the less. Here's the proof:
Shriner attempts to pay for his trip from Florida by tempting us with luscious fur sporrans (including, of all things, a possum pelt that looked wonderful! Wouldn't want one full-face, of course )

And here's the kilted rabble doing homage. That's Shriner, KiltedinUSMC, Jay, 1OldSarge, and my Bob.
A few more Games photos under the Games post, and views of Bob's new Union Kilt in the Casuals thread.
Thanks, Jay, for putting this together!
