Welsh Rugby Scarf Chicago, Saturday March 3
Okay...the Welsh Rugby Scarf is here so maybe we can do our thing this Saturday. Sorry if it seems like I'm hanging on to it for an unfair amount of time but, as someone pointed out, it should be somewhere other than in a box in the post office's care on St. Davy's Day and I figger we can stretch that to Saturday...I'll have it in the mail (Priority Mail) first thing Monday morning...promise.
So...if you want in on the get together/photo-op, be a the Bean (Michigan Avenue at Washington Street) at 9:45 AM Saturday morning. I should be easy to spot: I'll be the guy in the kilt with the Welsh Rugby Scarf. We can do a quick tour of Downtown stuff...Welsh Ruby Scarf around the neck of the Jack Brickhouse statue, anybody? Welsh Rugby Scarf meets the Giant Marilyn Monroe Statue? Then about noon we can head over to the Duke Of Perth (2913 North Clark Street...I'll warn the staff so they can make provisions for us not scaring the tourists...) for lunch, beer and whatever.
If'n you are so moved, please let me know if you're coming along...
Tonight, I sally forth into the Dark Heart of Chicago's Loop to seek the Chicago Tafia Society and get them to pose with the artifact. It's at the Elephant And Castle on Wacker Drive...don't worry, I know enough to just have beers and not eat there.
Be there or be square!
