Another new guy from Mississippi
My wife has liked kilts for a long time. She never really talked about it til a couple of years ago. She decided I would look sexy in a kilt so I got one and, of course, she was right ;)
My first kilt is Ramsey Blue and I loved it. We got several things in the kit (sporran, shirt, belt, hose). I finally got a chance to wear it in public at a festival a few months later and loved it. This Spring I added to the collection with a really cool Spirit of the Celts from Highland Inspirations (great price and really well made). Plus my wife needed one so she got a Sport Kilt. My sons each got one from Tartanista.
There's not many occasions to wear a kilt in North Mississippi (we live close to Tupelo), so we created one. My amazing wife has a lot of medical issues, not the least of which is a brain tumor. We created the North Mississippi Kilt Walk and Fun Run for Brain Tumor Awareness. The first one was this past May and we are currently working on the next one. www.kiltedforbraintumors.com is the website. We had over 100 people walk in the first one with nearly a dozen of us in kilts! Well, its a start.
I've been lurking here for a couple of weeks and I finally decided to jump in. The amount of knowledge and information is impressive! I am looking forward to learning even more from you!
