Another new Houstonian
Greetings all. I'm relatively new to the kilt having only worn a crappy costume version to Renfest the past couple years. I finally decided to purchase a proper kilt this past season. It is a Clark Antique from Highland Kilts and so far I am liking the idea of wearing it out instead of holding it for Renfest. I've been pretty deep in these forums for the past week learning how to wear my kilt without embarrassing myself before wearing it for the first time out in public. I've also ordered a 5.11 utility kilt so that perhaps I could start wearing it for work as well.

Hello and welcome from NNW Houston. As I mentioned to another Houston newbie, Kilt Nights Out can be difficult to arrange because everyone is scattered over a large city. Anyway, an upcoming opportunity for the kilt is the San Antonio Highland Games in Helotes, TX. Look for the tents for MacIntyre, Maxwell, Keith, and, .... I'm forgetting.. OTHERS! I hope to see you about.

Welcome from Cypress (West Houston)! Hope to see you at some of the Texas events. The San Antonio Highland Games (held near Helotes) will be April 8-9, and the Texas Scottish Festival (at it's new home in Decatur) will be May 11-13. Later in the year are the Kerr County Celtic Festival (in Ingram) in October and the Salado Clan Gathering (in Salado) the second weekend of November.
