Another newbie from Florida has landed
Just configured my account here. Excited to meet other excited people!
I've been a long time attendee of the Central FL Highland Games. After years of deliberation, I went to Scotland, got measured for a kilt.. Waiting any time this week to get it. Figured this site would be one more rite of passage. Greetings to all!!

Welcome from Reading, UK. And forum rules, we'll need photographic proof of the kilt.

Thanks for the greetings! I loved Scotland and hope to return very soon.
Got a phone call this morning, stating the kilt will arrive today! Yes, yes, yes! I was looking around during my Scotland visit, asking some locals where a good (authentic) spot to kind kilts... One recommended to visit Paisley, as they have pretty much every tartan that was registered. I visited Houston Kiltmakers, owned by Ken MacDonald (4th generation / 100 year old business). Since my clan is more of a sept, using influences from the Maxwell clan, I was apprehensive that they would not have the tartan (hard to find much Pollock stuff at most games). They found it! He worked with D.C. Dalgliesh on the request.

Sure do. Hope you have FOREVER to look at them all! If you have any questions on the trip, let me know. Will be glad to help. Also.. what is the etiquette for me sharing these photos to the rest of the forums? Can I post the link in any certain forum? Just getting the feel of the site now.
