Another newbie from North Carolina
Hello everyone! I just wanted to stop in and introduce myself. My name is Matt and of course, I live in NC. I have recently found that my Scottish roots go deeper that I could have ever imagined, with connections to both Malcom Wallace and Robert the Bruce (24 generations back). I have always admired Scotland and all things Scot, but I want to know more. I am just starting to look around the forum, so hopefully this will be a learning experience in itself. Thanks in advance for the welcome and have a great day!

Well met Matt. I left NC in 1990 (native from High Point) because I sensed changes contrary to my upbringing. Still, the people that remain, hold fast the standards that I admire. Glad to have you with us.

I want to leave and will, eventually. It isn't the same place I grew up in and I was born in 79. So many non-knowing politically active types and very few culturally appreciative types make for a hostile environment. I am looking to go to some of the Highland Games around the region, but also want to move to an area with an active "highlander" presence.

I am still getting used to this. I would love to go back in time and meet some of these whose blood I carry, even if it is just a wee bit. Thanks a lot and Cheers!
