Aye aye chappies! I'm new in town!
So I'm David, I work for Scotweb!
I live in Edinburgh and I grew up near Inverurie in Aberdeenshire. I'm 23 years of age and about to move to Spain in the middle of August, so have been practising my Spanish for about six months!
I have a degree in Computer Science and I'm a Software Engineer (my profession).
Ask me anything! I do love to answer questions!

Snooping on my IP are you?
I'm a comp sci graduate and have always had enthusiasm for computers. I hate the privacy / spying / filtering done by the UK government so I have my own dedicated server located in the Hetzner data centre in DE-CIX. I use OpenVPN / Socks5 SSH tunnels to browse the internet so that I can get some privacy. I run it on a KVM guest of my dedicated server since it's too powerful for just the one server! Arch Linux for the win.

Well I typically wear a jacket!
This is me (tallest, on the right) with my brother and sister. I own my own kilt but my Spanish lassie hates the colours so I just went for the most generic kilt you could. Oh well.

No, not spying.
As you know, every new member must pass a few hurdles during the registration process. One confirms that the email address you entered is valid.
The final hurdle is done by me personally. Sometimes a human eye can pick up on something a machine may miss.
Such as a stated location in Scotland with an IP registered to a VPN in Germany.
These Virtual Private Networks, especially the ones in Germany, are favorites of Spammers.
So yes, I do check the IP address of every new member.
