A Bonny Morning to All from Kelda-of-Cedars
Greetings!
I pride myself by being the Kelda of my wee Clan of 11 strapping boys, alas no daughters, but one daughter-in-law to date. My clan is, of course, all male (save the DIL). This consists of me husband (Dale-of-Cedars), two grown sons, and seven parrots. Being the only female in such a testosterone-laden household automatically makes me their Kelda, and they're all good lads who mind. The occasional bit of rebellion is tolerated (from the parrots only) because boys will be boys, but in general they are well-mannered, if a bit shy of strangers.
Me eldest lives in a tropical country with his fair wee bride (Calufournyeah, I think they call it) but they are good at keeping in touch, and visit as often as time permits. Our youngest remains with us until he's ready to fledge and leave the nest, but I think he's a plucker, so that may be some time.
My man has always fancied the idea of wearing kilts, and when our eldest announced his impending marriage in 2010, I suggested that instead of another "normal" suit (which would likely be never worn again ) that he instead go all-out and take the plunge on a formal kilt "suit," so to speak. Little did I know what I started! Now, he's become addicted to jackets, vests, hose, and all the other related finery. He only has the two kilts (that I'm aware of) but is building an entire collection of accessories to mix and match with them. Luckily, for our pocketbook, he does try to find bargains (Value Village is his favourite shop) and hasn't brought home too many "duds" (things that he's changed his mind about, that he won't or can't wear.) As for me, I'm sticking with my ONE fully pleated "Maple Leaf" tartan skirt.
As for family heritage, we are boths Canadian-born, Northern-European-British mutts. My brother has done a little research on my side of the family to find that we are: Viking/Scotts/Irish/French/English/Welsh (Struth! No wonder we have "British smiles.") My man's side of the family traces back to the Crawford Clan on his mother's side, but we have nowt on his dad's side.
'Nuff said for now. Your turn....

Welcome, Asgardian. It was a pleasure meeting you and Dale-of, although the evening was too brief. We will do it again.
