The Browns Are Here!
I am told that it's proper XMark etiquette to announce your arrival as a Newbie to the community. I'm here!
For several years, I have been telling the family about our family's Scottish heritage. Everyone thought it was marginally interesting until a bunch of them attended the Grandfather Mountain Highland Games last year. One of my uncles saw a Brown tartan and started asking a lot of questions. Someone at a tent passed him a Clan Brown booklet and off they went. Now we have 9 kilts on order from Scottland, 20 of us on the way to Loch Norman in April and 40 of us going to the GM Highland games in July. Everyone is looking forward to setting up the clan compound, cooking some meat on the fire and partaking in the spirits with some good music. We are a hospitible bunch and I hope to see you all there.
WHERE ARE THE REST OF THE BROWNS?!

I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

from Chicago. I've heard that Grandfather Mountain is a great experience. My brother took three of his kids there last year and they enjoyed themselves tremendously. We have ancestors in at least 78 clans that I've identified in my genealogy work, but we primarily identify with Gordon and Campbell. My brother is Boss H.O.G for Georgia (that's Convenor of the House of Gordon for Georgia)

Welcome Broons. Just a wee point, Scotland only has the one "t" but forgive me if it's perhaps a trade name or something.
