Coming Back - Too Long Away!
Good Evening!
I was a non-active member (lurker) of this forum several years ago and I dropped off due to life getting in the way. I'm back and excited to be back and want to be more active.
A little about myself. My surname is Scott and I did a substantive genealogical search and found the village my ancestors came from - Selkirk, Scotland. My youngest brother was fortunate to visit and the locals treated him kindly and welcomed him at the pub for several days...
I'm originally from Indiana but now live in the Columbus, OH area - a transplant Buckeye fan for football - but a diehard Hoosier basketball fan.
When I was visiting this forum years ago there was a gentleman from NC who made fine 8-yard kilts, Mr. Newsome, does anyone know if he is still on this forum?
I'm looking forward to rejoining this wonderful forum and connecting with like-minded folks.
Thanks!
J

Welcome - my surname is Scott also.
Can you send me the name of that pub where the locals in Selkirk welcomed your brother. Would be worth a visit if I get up to Scotland again from here in New Zealand.
Regards, Dave

I joined this site shortly after you did in 2014. I too have found many things out about my family history but have not had the pleasure (as you have) to visit Scotland. I hope my envy doesn't show. My wife suggests that I don't mention anything about basketball of football on this site. I slip now and again and apolegiize.
Glad to have you back with us.

Welcome from a Scotsman living in middle England. The name Scott does appear in my tree, but from a different part of the country (Perthshire). There are a lot of Scotts about.
