Czech in
Hi guys,
hello from Prague, Czech republic..
First of all, let me thank you for that forum, it is a real pleasure to find a place where you can discuss and discover all about kilts, but also advises from the real world, so thanks!
I have to say, I found that forum only 3 days ago and still did not have much time to discover a lot, but I have to say, the welcome to the forum sounds surprisingly sympathetic, I do appreciate that! What a difference to the classic forums, where if you happen to be new to the subject, the best advise you get is „look into history moron!“ or „UTFG“ and for about a year, you should only listen, read and shut up..
My story with kilt is short for the moment, it started some 8 years ago during Xmass party in my previsous job, where the theme was costumes of famous film roles. So as my choice was William Wallace (sorry for the cliche ), I hired a real kilt (as my profile photo shows a little, sorry, it is the only one I found) and I simply loved to wear it! Fine during the diner, comfy on the dance floor where it was damn hot, but surprisingly also outside where it was -15°C..the only „issue“ was that it started to be a little bit boring to reply for the 189x that yes, sure, the point of kilt is to have no underwear, so yes, I really don´t have any - to literaly each and every girl and lady on that party So since that moment, I just wish to have one and wear it as much as I would like to. As it demands some budget, I hesitated, but now I think I am old enough to make myself happy
The kilt I wore was a solid 8 yard wool and it was amazing, so I think that would be my choice again, hope it will be okey even for the hot summer. Regarding the tartan, as I have no direct link to Scotland, I will try to go for the Czech national tartan – and luckily, I like it a lot! – for classic use and idealy also the Solid black Shadow tartan kilt from stillwaterkilts (if they will have in stock some day my size) for metal concerts with some solid boots
I hope that my wishes are reasonable and I am widely opened to any idea, thank you in advance and I wish you a fine day!
Jan

Well met Jan. Everything in your introduction is reasonable for anyone interested in kilts. I think you will have no problems in the future when you wear the kilt you want to get. The first experience you had was a good one on many levels. This is a "learn as you go along" process. Welcome from Oxford, Mississippi.
