Deep in the Badger State
I joined three years ago but just put up my first post. It's a great site.
I wore a kilt to my wedding 40 years ago and I've been wearing one ever since. I now have four kilts and two jackets. My mother was a McIntyre and proud of it. My first Scottish ancestor came to Salem, Mass. by way of Nova Scotia in the 1600s. The story passed down to us is that Edward McIntyre was a physician who left Scotland to avoid the hangman, for reasons lost to the ages.
I have spent most of my life in Wisconsin, though wife Christal and I were four years "missionaries to Darkest Michigan." I currently teach business management at Ripon College -- a private, 4-year liberal arts college -- after a 45-year career as a writer, editor, journalist, and corporate trainer. (First paid writing job at age 16.)
The photos are from my daughter Robin's commissioning in the Nat'l Guard and her wedding. They were both a few years ago; she's now a captain and intelligence unit commander and twice a mother. It's nice to know there's at least one intelligent person in military intelligence--two if you count her husband. (I wonder if he salutes her.)

I was once asked if anyone in my family suffers from insanity. I replied, "No, we all seem to enjoy it."

Hello and welcome from a McIntyre in Houston, TX. My great-great grandfather's two brothers (Peter B. and John B. McIntyre) continued westward from Eastern Ohio to settle in Muscoda, WI, just west of Madison.
