First Proper Kilt
Greetings All:
In anticipation of the upcoming festival season here in Northern California, I have taken delivery of my first proper kilt. As the mill required 12 weeks to produce my Clan Tartan, Rocky at USA Kilts graciously expedited the production of this one in his American Heritage Tartan.
I truly welcome any wisdom or constructive criticism, offered on my ensemble below, for a daytime tent-sitting, at the Motherlode Celtic Fair next weekend.

Cheers!!

I'll jump at the chance to say, "well put together there Rich." With all the flowers blooming in Death Valley, you might want to find a Dandelion (to announce yourself as an XMark member) for your cap. Have fun at the event.

Looking good, Rich. My American Heritage Casual (from Rocky) is one of my favorite kilts. It gets worn on a weekly basis, usually alternating with an Amerikilt and a UTKilt.
I like your casual look - but I would not tuck the tie into the waistband.

Enjoy, it's a fun event. Try to get over to see the jousting, if you can.
BTW, if that's a "proper" kilt, then what's an "improper" kilt?

Looking great, Rick. You might however consider a shirt color better matching your kilt socks. I guess that to most it is definitely a minor thing, but I have a weakness for color coordination.
I suppose ties are still worn at Celtic fairs, otherwise it might be a bit overdressed. Again, it is looked upon from a Scandinavian perspective where ties have almost disappeared - for any purpose.
