Fit like, loons & quines?
Just a quick hello from Aberdeenshire.
I'm an occasional kilt wearer, but thinking of becoming more of a regular wearer.

I'd already guessed from the thread title that you hailed from Aberdeenshire.

Actually, I should probably 'fess up now that I'm not a born and bred Aberdonian. I originally hail from a wee place called Broughty Ferry. Been biding here or hereabouts for the past twenty years though.
Thanks for all the warm welcomes!

Hello form Alberta Canada!
My mother upon visiting some of my father's relatives that lived in Aberdeen, found the vernacular really interesting... it almost caused her to have a complete meltdown.
The Aberdonian auntie on meeting my parent's brood exclaimed what a lovely bunch of loonies and quinies my parents had. My mother never hearing that vernacular was stunned that a relative would comment on my brothers all being mentally ill... she replied, "I'll have you know that my sons are not lunatics!" Mind you, on the other hand a few of her Yukon/Alaskan words caused a bit of a stir too... LOL
