    g'day from Australia

Hi all I just wanted to say g'day to all on this forum.I'v just started to collect Scottish regimental attire And I must say these kilts are so comfy. My interest stems from my family history on my mothers side. They were the McLeod's of Pabbay and my branch of the family immigrated to Australia in the mid 1800's. I'v been collecting military uniforms and equipment for about 4 months now and finally got my first kilt two weeks ago with a lovely doublet . First thing I did was put it on and wow as I stated before just so comfy .I think I'm converted .That is the first kilt I put pictures up of the one that is opened in one picture . The aussie one I have not received yet but it is paid for and on it's way .These are the advertisement pictures I stole to show it off and research although I can't seem to add the pictures properly the ones I first added are backwards and one of them completely disappeared So I apologise for the pic mess up . I do need to get myself a kilt I can ware on a day to day basis I would like to preserve the military one's I have .If anyone has any ideas were I may be able to get one in Australia ?? I would appreciate it . I would like to get one made in the traditional McLeod family tartan . I must say this site is a treasure trove of info on Scottish attire I was just wondering if there is anyone on this site that specialise's in military attire ? I'd like to learn more about the subject is all. well Thanks and g'day from Australia

Hi Matthew and welcome to the forum. There are a couple of good kiltmakers in Australia. I would recommend Karen and Doug Manger at All Things Tartan in Queensland. Karen is the kiltmaker and has made a number of kilts for the Australian Army. Pease let us know what state you are in and we maybe able to answer a few more of youe questions. Cheers
