Greeting from Hampton Roads,Va
I figured after a few months of stalking the boards, and finally buying my second kilt I should introduce myself.
For years I wanted to wear a kilt, but after I saw the price tag I decided...uh never mind. Then I starting dating my current girlfriend. One day we were walking down the street and she saw a guy wearing a kilt. She mentioned about how she loves a man in a kilt, and that was it. I was on a mission to find one, and fast!
So while researching kilt info I found this board. I clicked the links for the various vendors and couldn't make up my mind on who I should buy from and what type of kilt I wanted. Then like a bright shinning light hitting me, I found a post from a member asking if anyone had ever bought from an ebayer by the name of bobilishious. I clicked through the link and what do I see in front of me? A custom made 13oz wool kilt in the Wilson Tartan for only $200. Wow what luck! That's my mothers maiden name! I had to buy it.
After waiting for 3 excruciating long weeks it finally arrived and it fit perfect! I sent a pic of me wearing it immediately to my g/f, and she loved it too. I've only worn the kilt a few times in public and so far I've received only 3 negative comments; two were from men, and the one girl came up to me later on in the night to apologize. She said she was following the crowd, and thought I looked good in it.
No one ever warned me that once you buy a kilt it becomes and addiction. On Monday I bought an Irish National standard kilt from Stillwater, and on Wednesday it arrived. My lord they have fast shipping!
To the members and the moderators, thank you for a great resource! I love this place!

Congratulations and
Your girlfriend sounds like a keeper!
I have always tempered my killing with respect for the game pursued. I see the animal not only as a target but as a living creature with more freedom than I will ever have. I take that life if I can, with regret as well as joy, and with the sure knowledge that nature's ways of fang and claw or exposure and starvation are a far crueler fate than I bestow. - Fred Bear
