Greetings all!
Hello everyone!
I'm new to the boards and thought it best to introduce myself.
I'm local to South Central Pennsylvania near Harrisburg. Although I'm here in the U.S., my family has roots in Scotland around Aberdeenshire. I've been a fan of Scottish history and culture for years, especially with the blend of heritages that met in the Northeast (the Viks, Picts and Scots). I'm a member of the Society for Creative Anachronism and enjoy researching and recreating the transitional period between 650 AD and 900 AD. I'm a blacksmith, leather worker and dabbler in a variety of other trades. I'm quite glad that I found the forums here and look forward to being a part of them! If there's anything else you'd like to know, please feel free to ask.

Hi, Eogan, and welcome to X Marks from the bottom end of Africa.
Not at all sure where my Scottish great-grandfather was from, but he belonged to a Lowland clan and, so I am told, his mother belonged to one from the Highlands.
Regards,
Mike
