Greetings from Central California
Hi, everyone!
I've been lurking on the public-facing boards for a while, picking up useful information all the while, but a current project necessitated actually registering so I could start asking questions of my own.
I started wearing a kilt when my then-fiancé (now husband) decided to get married in kilts. He's of German extractions, and he was then baffled when I immediately started researching my genealogy. He learned to make kilts. I learned to wear them. And we're in the process of living happily ever after. Ironically, I now kilt up far more often than he does, because the doctor put me on a diet and he lost 60 lbs., which means he's now too skinny for all his kilts.
I'm looking forward to getting to know y'all.

Well met Kyle. It seems you already have the solution "in house" so to speak. If he can make kilts, he can adjust kilts to weight loss (maybe with begging and bribes.) The info on how-to is easily found here. Glad to have you with us.

Yeah, I mentioned that. After the wedding he swore he'd never work with tartan again, and he plans to stick to that. However, we have a friend who does kilt adjustments; we just have to have time to get together with her. Well, either that or we have to buy him a whole new wardrobe and give me his hand-me-downs, which I think is a great plan, but so far, no dice...
