Greetings from Czech Republic
Hello there!
I would like to introduce myself a little bit
My name is Nikola, I am living near mountains in Czech Republic, the nearest big well-known city is Prague
So far as I know, I don't have any Scotland ancestors. But I am in love with Scotland, its culture and language (hard one) , bagpipes (I am still in practice chanter stage )) ) and rugby )
As Czech, we have one registered Czech Tartan and I would love to have "kilt" skirt in this particular tartan and one "kilt" skirt in universal one..
But to be honest, I don't want to offend someone with wearing it.. In any way - as a girl and as a non-scottish person
So I am still in the prep phase and I hope that I will find my courage somewhere to do that.
Thank you and hopefully see you in other forums topics!

Welcome, from Inverness-shire. In all honesty, I think you might be better to consider wearing a Czech tartan, or a universal tartan in skirt form.

Thank you!
After your reply, I have slightly edited my post.. As English is not my primary language, I feel that my description was not so good as I have previously thought - whole time I was thinking not about the original, usual worn kilt with all accessories around as I feel that's something for men, doesn't matter which nationality, but for men or as an uniform ( i.e. in pipe bands..)
I had / have on my mind something I called kilt skirt - it means skirt from tartan fabric, not specified length, but one type I like is "wrapped" fabric into the heavy skirt or shorter version with sewed foldes.
What do you think now please? )

You are doing just fine with your English! What you have in your mind and your description, is exactly what I have in my mind, after what you have written. Well done.

Hi Nikola - welcome from Scotland. You will not offend anyone wearing a kilted skirt in Czech tartan - I hope you will come to Scotland to prove that. (The Northeast around Aberdeen is the best part . ) What I'm not sure about is how easy it will be for you to get Czech tartan material.
All the best.
Alan
